The Massachusetts Appeals Court ruled today that cremated remains of former members of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Wayland can't be disinterred and moved elsewhere now that the building has become a Coptic Orthodox church - which does not believe in cremation and which wants the land for its own uses. State Police report a Dudley man suffered serious injuries around 6:30 p.m. yesterday when a tire on a car on the other side of the highway came off, traveled across the median and smashed into his windshield.
State Police say the man was heading westbound in Wayland when the left rear tire and rim of an Ontario driver's 1994 Lincoln MK8 flew off the car. The driver of that car was uninjured; State Police did not speculate as to why his tire and rim suddenly let go.
Evan reports the Broomstones Curling Club's open house in Wayland yesterday was so crowded that at one point people had to wait outside because of fire limitations:
