The Bulletin reports on the imminent construction of the Southwest Boston Community Development Corp.'s 27-unit affordable building next to the Fairmount train station. The then BRA approved the project in 2014.
In an effort to promote ridership, the MBTA is offering 2 weeks free on the Fairmount line.

An exhausted outbound Fairmount Line bought the farm just before Fairmount station and now the T says there are delays of 30 to 40 minutes, which is roughly twice as long as it would take the average adult to just get out and walk from Fairmount to the end of the line at Readville (yes, of course, unlike every other line, the Fairmount Line is not named for the last stop).

The BRA today approved a proposed 27-unit apartment building on what is now an unused piece of industrial land next to the Fairmount commuter-rail station.
The Southwest Boston Community Development Corp., which covers Hyde Park, and the Codman Square Neighborhood Development Corp. which has considerable experience building affordable housing, are partnering on the $7-million Residences at Fairmount Station, which will feature 24 "affordable" apartments and three market-rate units.
