The Boston City Council this week agreed to consider a proposal by Councilor Sharon Durkan (Fenway, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Mission Hill) to amend an ordinance aimed at preventing some city parks and parkways from being overwhelmed by tall buildings next to them to allow a tall residential building next to the Charlesgate section of the Emerald Necklace. A woman who got into an argument with her sister after a night on the town punched her to the ground, then ground her footwear into her head, which she then slammed into the pavement several times on Dec. 8, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Read more.

The Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Red Sox and Fenway Park, yesterday filed a letter of intent with the BPDA to build a new entertainment venue next to Fenway Park between Lansdowne and Ipswich streets, behind the Fenway bleachers, to "host a wide variety of entertainment and civic events on a year-round basis."
