Two developers today filed plans for a six-story, 233-unit apartment building on Arboretum Road in Roslindale that will also include creation of a "gateway" to the Arnold Arboretum to replace what is now a litter-strewn underpass beneath the Needham Line train track. Read more.

A Roslindale man was arraigned today on charges he punched a woman in the face in the Arnold Arboretum and then raped her repeatedly on Aug. 13, 2013, and will be arraigned on Monday on charges he raped a 16-year-old on Morton Street in Mattapan on April 1, 2007, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Banana Republic jacket

Hamel was in Bussey Brook Meadow (the "wild" part of the Arboretum across Washington Street from the Forest Hills T stop) yesterday, picking up trash for Earth Day, but lost her Banana Republic denim jacket (which looks like the one above). If anybody spots it, let us know.

Yesterday, roving UHub photographer Dan Peters spied this comfy coyote up a hill at the part of the Arnold Arboretum in Roslindale that's across Walter Street from the main part of the Arbs, where the solar panels are.

Morning eclipse, with jet

Adam Balsam was among the many people who got up early to get a good view of the eclipse, which in his case meant a trip to Wollaston Beach. At first, it was disappointing, because clouds obscured the show as the sun broke above the horizon, but once the sun rose high enough, the show was on. Read more.
