Transit Police report the driver of a small SUV who turned left in front of a trolley that had the green signal on Commonwealth Avenue at Summit Avenue had to find alternate means to get home - while the trolley driver wound up getting transported to a local hospital with neck and back pain. The aptly named Summit Avenue, which runs from Brighton into Brookline, is currently shut. A car slid on the Brighton side, blocking the road. A tow truck called in to remove the car also slid on the Brighton side, blocking the road even more. A new tow truck has been summoned.
The November Project is a group for people who want to exercise in the winter months - outside. Around 6 a.m., members congregated on Summit Avenue and shoveled random people's walks and driveways - then ran down the park at the top of the hill that gives the street its name.
