The Massachusetts Appeals Court today rejected arguments that Boston Police officers doing a well being check on a man who never missed work should not have entered his house without a warrant, and so upheld the second-degree murder conviction of his son - whom officers found in the house along with his dead father. Mark Regan
Mark Regan, 38, was sentenced today to life in prison for murdering his father, also named Mark Regan, in their Perham Street home on March 14, 2014, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.
Sometime last week, a Suffolk County prosecutor says, Mark Regan died in his bed at 105 Perham St. when his son, also named Mark Regan, fired several shots into him.
The younger Regan, 33, was ordered held without bail today at his arraignment in West Roxbury District Court.
Assistant District Attorney David Fredette said the younger Regan was seen at his father's house Wednesday, two days before police found the body - after somebody asked them to check on the elder Regan's well being.
Mark Regan, 33, was arrested overnight on charges of murdering his adoptive father, also named Mark Regan, in his 105 Perham St. home, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Police discovered the elder Regan's body yesterday after somebody called them to ask for a well being check on him.
The younger Regan is scheduled for arraignment on Monday in West Roxbury District Court.
