Koro-sensei took in Anime Boston at the Hynes today, taking a break from his work educating students in Assassination Classroom (where they must kill him to prevent him from destroying the earth, only they can't, because not only does he have several superpowers, he is helping them improve their grades). The New England Anime Society of Somerville, which puts on the annual Anime Boston show at the Hynes, this week sued two of its former volunteers, who are using the phrase "Boston Anime Fest" to promote their own show at the Hanover Mall, which is somewhere south of Boston.

The kidlet and I made our annual trek to the Pru to check out the costumes for Anime Boston. As always, it didn't disappoint, except for maybe the fact there were no Tron characters.
Thousands of costumed con goers flitted through both the Hynes and the Pru, where they mixed with bemused tourists and a few little kids, who found themselves watching an impromptu parade.

The kidlet and I headed to the Pru today to check out the costumes on people attending Anime Boston. Naturally, we headed to the food court first, which was packed, except in front of Chacarero.
The costumes did not disappoint.

Timothy LePage spotted this fox at the Christian Science Center today. You'd almost think there's an anime show in town or something (another view).

Joe Driscoll photographed some of the anime fans in town for this past weekend's anime conference at the Hynes (such as the folks above).
Bostonist also took photos and reports on the cognitive dissonance of living cartoon characters wandering around the Prudential Center mall.

Fabulously Out There is walking to work at the Pru this morning when she starts seeing weird people:
... Next, two men come toward dressed in bedsheets covered in fake blood.
At which point I an wondering....are they crusaders? It is Good Friday and we all know what the Catholics did back in the day. These two might be a bit much into it.
Then, suddenly, Wonder-freaking-Woman, just with different colors appears.
At this point I am doubting my sanity.
There were a few pirate as well....and....as I enter my office building, I see a dude walking around in what resembles a popcorn box (home made, think Halloween) that said "DUH" on it. ...
Hmm, sounds like a job for Anime Boston, which opens today at, tah dah, the Hynes.
