Rasheem Christian got a mandatory sentence of life without parole yesterday following his conviction for first-degree murder for the 2013 death of Brianna Bigby, gunned down as she sat in a car in Egleston Square, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Anthony Howard, 27, who already has one gun conviction and is in custody on another gun charge, was arraigned yesterday on charges he shot a woman to death last June in Egleston Square, shot another man in the same incident and shot two other men earlier the same day, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report.
UPDATE: Boston Police identify the murder victim as Brianna Bigby, 23.
Police are in the area of Columbus Avenue and Washington Street where two people were shot around 3:20 p.m., with one victim dead.
