A man arrested last year as an armed Mass and Cass drug dealer was arrested yesterday on Homestead Street in Roxbury on new drug trafficking and gun charges as part of an investigation by the BPD human-trafficking unit and drug units from the South End and West Roxbury. Read more.

Two Roxbury men face federal gun charges for allegedly storing and selling devices for turning regular guns into rapid-fire weapons, which one of them sold to an informant working with ATF, and which the other stored in his bedroom, according to court documents released in recent days. Read more.
Boston is suing a Rhode Island man it says bought a federally and city-funded "affordable" Roxbury condo in 2012 but is now renting it out, in violation of a deed restriction that requires the unit only be owned and occupied by Boston residents. Read more.

Stanley Stacos reports somebody was shot at Humboldt Avenue and Homestead Street around 3:10 p.m.
Boston Police report the man was taken to a local hospital, where he died. He is Boston's 29th murder victim this year.
UPDATE: The victim died. He was identified as Eric Jackson, 29.
WBZ reports the man was found lying in the street outside 63 Homestead St. with multiple gunshot wounds around 2:35 a.m. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of his injuries.
