Update: Two residents and a firefighter injured.
Firefighters responded to 26 Hemenway St., near Haviland, for a fire around 10:15 p.m. Was declared knocked down around 10:40 p.m.

The owners of the Boston Fenway Inn hostel on Hemenway Street - who also own the tonier Copley Square Hotel - will learn Thursday whether the Boston Licensing Board will accept their offer to just shut the place down while they make upgrades to reduce the number of times police have to respond to deal with problem guests. Yesterday, Tony G. watched crews demolish what was left of 104 Hemenway St., the scene of a 7-alarm fire last fall.

A man who began attacking his neighbor at 149 Hemenway St. with a stick around 6:30 p.m. was subdued by police, but, according to WHDH, only after injuring four officers. Police used a taser to subdue him.

UPDATE: After shutting off the gas to the entire building, National Grid said residents - many Northeastern students - could return inside, but that they won't have any gas until after repairs are made tomorrow.
204 Hemenway St., around 9:45 p.m. Both Boston Fire and National Grid teams are on scene.
