CommonWealth Beacon reports the city is working with downtown and Seaport landlords to have them put up their temporary flood barriers on Boston's first Deployables Day to get building personnel used to using one of the cheaper technologies city planners hope to use to ward off rising sea levels and more severe storms. Boston police, firefighters and EMTs responded to 399 Congress St. at B Street after a driver crashed into a Seaport Boulevard building near there, bounced off and then took out a utility box, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. First responders found the driver unconscious.

As Boston officials await word on whether the legislature will give last-second approval to more than 250 liquor licenses for the city, the Boston Licensing Board today approved plans by developer John Hynes IV to pay $600,000 for the liquor license of a defunct downtown bar to use it as an enticement to bring in somebody to run the restaurant he wants to have in his 18-story, $600-million Seaport office and life-sciences building. The Massachusetts Appeals Court today tossed a lawsuit by the owner of the Davio's chain of Italian steakhouses against its insurer, which had told Davio's that its "all risks" policy did not, in fact, cover all risks, specifically losses from being forced to close or limit service in dining rooms during the Covid-19 pandemic.
