The Supreme Judicial Court today vacated George Ortega's conviction for the 2012 murder of Steven Fuentes on Leyland Street in Dorchester, saying the judge in the case should have should have pressed prosecutors more on their decision to try to exclude a black woman from the jury - and should have told the jury to consider whether Fuentes's death was a case of self defense. A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted George Ortega, 32, of Lynn, of first-degree murder for the death of Steven Fuentes in Uphams Corner in 2012, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.
Anthony Solomon, 32, of Everett, will be arraigned this morning on a murder charge for the May 24 death of Steven Fuentes on Leyland Street, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
A second man, George Ortega, 29, of Lynn, was arrested and charged in September for Fuente's murder.
Solomon will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

George Ortega, 28, is scheduled for arraignment in Roxbury District Court today on charges he gunned down Steven Fuentes on Leyland Street on May 24, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Ortega was arrested in Lynn by Boston and Lynn police last night.
