Two awoken citizens filed complaints early this morning about loud kids playing hoops at the Sumner School on Basile Street in Roslindale, and by morning they mean through at least 3:15 a.m. Read more.
Around 9:25 p.m. on Basile Street near Washington. The suspect was described as black, 6' and wearing a black ski mask and all black clothes. He ran towards Lindall Street.
Parents and neighbors descended on the Sumner School in Roslindale today to help set up a temporary play set to replace the one burned in an arson fire this past May, until a more permanent playground can be built. Read more.
BPS officials promised students at the Sumner School in Roslindale today that their arson-ravaged playground would be rebuilt in time for the opening of school in September.
At a ceremony at which kids thanked the firefighters of Ladder 16 and Engine 53 in Roslindale for keeping the fire from spreading, officials praised the kids for their reaction to the fire - they raised $277.45 in a lemon-aid sale - and parents and local businesses, who have so far kicked in more than $60,000.
