Streetsblog Massachusetts reports on the cruiser crash Saturday afternoon on the sidewalk in front of the Granary Burying Ground on Tremont Street, taking out a traffic light and damaging a hydrant, but not hitting anybody. The officer was on his way down Tremont to the Burger King, where other officers managed to arrest a man while he was still trying to hold the place up at gunpoint.

George Dagraca, 43, died this past Thursday. Somebody set up a memorial for him where he used to sit, along the burying-ground fence. Read more.

Don't fall down the rabbit hole

The city has shut the Old Granary Burying Ground on Tremont Street as officials try to figure out what caused a deep sinkhole at the rear of the cemetery - and what to do about it. Those cones don't look like much, but they mark a wooden sheet covering a hole big enough that officials don't want to worry about a tourist disappearing in it.
