Two people were shot in the parking lot of the Burger King at Columbia Road and Washington Street around 2 p.m., according to Boston EMS Incidents. One later died, Boston Police report.
Both that man and a second, found with non-fatal injuries, were in their early 20s, police say.
The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of at least one victim's injuries. Read more.

Not long after, a man showed up at a local ER with a fresh gunshot wound; unclear if it's related.

Stephen White, 61, is scheduled for arraignment in Dorchester Municipal Court today on charges he fatally stabbed an acquaintance in the area of Columbia Road and Intervale Street, the Suffolk County Districct Attorney's office reports.

Rear Admiral spotted these two turkeys off Columbia Road in Dorchester today.
The Santander Bank branch at 585 Columbia Rd., around 1 p.m. by a black man, about 35, wearing black clothes and sunglasses and with facial hair. He fled on foot.
The branch was held up in June.
Boston firefighters are at the Old Colony Avenue underpass at Columbia Road, where two manholes began smoking around 11:45 a.m.
