UPDATE: Averill died in a car crash yesterday afternoon.

William Averill, 50, of West Roxbury, faces arraignment tomorrow on charges he raped a woman who'd reported to him as part of her probation for larceny, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office and Boston Police report. Read more.

Licensing Board votes "no violation" by auditorium.

Boston Police and a manager at the Russell Auditorium say a man stabbed repeatedly outside the Talbot Avenue facility on May 7 was apparently attacked in revenge for a rape for which he was convicted about five years ago. Read more.

A federal judge yesterday sentenced Shayne Parker to five years in prison for interstate transportation of firearms and being a felon in possession of ammunition, the US Attorney's office reports. Read more.

The Globe reports on the teen shot to death outside Burke High School in Dorchester yesterday afternoon.

Two other students and a woman were also shot, but survived.

WBUR reports the school brought in grief counselors today.

He is Boston's 13th murder victim this year.

93 Park St. fire in Dorchester

Boston firefighters responded around 1:20 p.m. to a fire at 93 Park St. in Dorchester that went to four alarms before it was knocked down. The Boston Fire Department reports no injuries.

Boston Police report a 17-year-old is dead from a barrage around 1:15 p.m. outside Burke High School this afternoon that also injured two other teens and a woman in her 60s.

City Council President Michelle Wu ended today's council meeting by announcing the shootings.

The Herald reported yesterday that a Dorchester man had posted a video to Twitter in which he threatened to kill EMTs and police officers he felt were harassing him.

Dead shark off Columbia Point in Dorchester

On Tuesday, police and Aquarium biologists investigated the remains of a basking shark in the Reserve Channel. This morning, Nichole spotted what appeared to be the same shark floating in the water off the JFK Library on Columbia Point.

In 2012, a whale carcass that washed ashore on one of the Harbor islands eventually floated out to sea and headed north, winding up on a beach in Rockport.

Boston Police report they are investigating two indecent assaults that happened within 15 minutes of each other in the area of Columbia Road and Richfield Street.

Around 6:15 a.m. a woman was approached from behind by a man who groped her and then ran down Richfield, police say. About 15 minutes later, another woman was attacked in the same manner and area, they add.

Arthur Samuels, who once ran Bank of America's Fields Corner branch, was sentenced to a year and a day in federal prison and ordered to pay $2.2 million in restitution for his role in Michael David Scott's scheme to suck money out of banks with fraudulent real-estate purchases in 2007 and 2008, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports.
