The Boston Department of Neighborhood Development and the BPDA are readying bid requests for several vacant lots and one parking lot in Dudley Square in the hopes of seeing more housing and commercial space built in the neighborhood. Read more.

Boston Police report officers found the kid with "a loaded .25 caliber Ravens Arms semi-automatic handgun" around 10 p.m. on Thursday at 256 Dudley Street.

Multiple shots were fired around 10:25 p.m. at Dudley and Albion streets, where Justin Depina was murdered yesterday.

UPDATE: Friends identify the victim as Justin Depina.

Around 5:10 p.m. on Dudley Street at Albion. The victim, 19, was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Boston Police report.

Boston Police report a man and a woman were shot around 12:05 a.m. at 6 Dudley Terrace, off Dudley Street.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene; the woman was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.

The man is Dorchester's tenth murder victim this year.

Boston Police report arresting a 15-year-old from Lynn they say threatened at least two people with a loaded gun on Dudley Street before pedaling away on a bike he'd stolen not long before.

Around 10:45 p.m., BPD officers responded to Columbia Road and Blue Hill Avenue on a report that some guys on dirt bikes had just smashed a window of a sergeant's personal car.

As officers roamed the area looking for five guys on dirt bikes - several were spotted but not pursued for safety reasons - officers found somebody who'd just been robbed at gunpoint at Dudley and Cottage streets, shortly after 11 p.m. The suspect made off with, among other things, the victim's sneakers.

A man charged with armed robbery of a Roxbury market was caught in a courthouse lockup trying to rip up the distinctive lime-green, blue and yellow sneakers that helped ID him and flush them down a toilet, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.
