A trolley that clang, clang, clanged its last this morning is causing grief on the Green Line. At 8:05 a.m., Matt Hrono reported:
Green line is royally boned. Disabled at Kenmore and I'm stuck somewhere between Hynes and Kenmore. Going on 20min now

I feel like only a newcomer to Boston, or any city, the concept of public transit, especially the T or at least the Green Line on a weekday morning at Kenmore would tweet that message. But, it's September and clearly that guy has a lot to learn?

Confuses me when a train at Kenmore or Park severely slows down traffic. There are two ways through, use the one that isn't blocked?

If a westbound C train goes bad, or is held, on the Kenmore platform, it's blocking D trains from moving. If any westbound train goes bad on the switch entering Kenmore, it's blocking all B, C, and D trains from moving. Note that the westbound B track does not reconnect to the westbound C and D track after the Kenmore platform.
If a westbound train is held or goes bad on one of the westbound berth tracks at Park Street, all trains then have to use a single track. So now you have four lines using a single platform instead of two lines. During rush hour, this can easily result in westbound trains stacked up around the GC loop and back to Park Street (the 'loop o'trolley")
