The blindfold and handcuffs were consensual, but the car theft went too far, police say
Arlington Police report they are looking for a guy who had permission to blindfold and cuff a Spy Pond Parkway resident this afternoon - but not to take his cash and car.
Police say the resident and suspect hooked up via "an advertisement posted on an online classifieds service" and that the victim picked up the guy at the Alewife T stop this afternoon.
The handcuffs and blindfold were consensual. The suspect then stole the cash and car keys and left the residence.
In a statement, Police Chief Frederick Ryan said other residents have nothing to worry about, at least not as long as they're not going online to look for people to tie them up:
This does not appear to be a random act of violence, and we do not want residents to be in fear for their safety.
Police say they recovered the victim's vehicle not long after they responded around 2 p.m. - near the Alewife T stop, where they suspect the suspect escaped on the Red Line.
He's described as tall and white, about 200 lbs. with a neck tattoo. He's in his 30s and was last seen wearing Celtics clothing.

Celtics Clothing?!! - Well, That Should Make Him Easy To Find
Wow, those are the really old uniforms
predating the short shorts of the 70's, and just white guys back then too.
The Cardboard Cop of Alewife
Did he use the Cardboard Cop of Alewife handcuffs on the victim! This poor guy was victimized twice first by the love bandit and then by the cops who humiliated him in their press conference.
