Boston's vowel shortage continues; board approves consonant-only club in the Theater District

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday approved Big Night Entertainment's plans to buy Metro, 100 Stuart St. in the Theater District, and rename it BSMNT.

The vote came not long after the board approved a new manager for WNDR in Downtown Crossing.

At a hearing Wednesday, Big Night attorney Kristen Scanlon said BSMNT would be similar to Metro, but with a new sound system through which DJs can pump out House music.

Last spring, the board approved a new Seaport restaurant called SAVR - the same day it also approved a new South Bay cookie shop called Crumbl.

We don't want to start a vowel movement.

I just walked past this yesterday and wondered what it was. Their website, as far as I can tell does not define "WNDR", even in the FAQ section.

You know, the people who use names like Mstislav and Shchedrin, and have organizations named KPSS and VLKSM.

And hold onto them for when consonants are out and vowels are back in.

Opening in late 2024: AAAAAAAAA, named for the noise patrons make when they step inside and realize there's no floor.

Why Basement?

Sounds like a Boston thing...
Mattapan, Dorchester, Roxbury, South End and South Boston too. Do they have basements in Milton and the Back Bay? What about the North End; Do they have Basements? /s
