A developer has filed plans with the BPDA to reuse part of the former Mount Sinai Baptist Church at Wellington Hill Street and Greendale Road at Morton Street in Mattapan to create a five-story, 27-unit condo building. Read more.

The Dorchester Reporter reports that Gov. Healey has picked Stephanie Everett, currently head of the Boston Office of Police Accountability and Transparency, to replace Felix Arroyo as Suffolk County register of probate and family court, at least through the end of Arroyo's term in 2024. The nomination requires the approval of the Governor's Council.

The Longfellow Area Neighborhood Association and other civic groups will host an online forum for the four candidates running to represent District 5 - Roslindale, Hyde Park and Mattapan - at 7 p.m. on July 18.

Incumbent Ricardo Arroyo faces challenges from Jean Claude Sanon, Enrique Pepén and Jose Ruiz.

The state Ethics Commission reported yesterday that City Councilor Ricardo Arroyo (Hyde Park, Mattapan, Roslindale) has paid a $3,000 fine for not withdrawing as a lawyer, after his election, from the lawsuit his brother, former City Councilor and mayoral aide Felix Arroyo, filed against the city over his firing. The Bay State Banner lists the City Council races that could have contested races this fall, including the four at-large seats and Districts 3 (Dorchester), 5 (Hyde Park, Mattapan and Roslindale), 6 (West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, part of Mission Hill) and 7 (Roxbury).

The Dorchester Reporter provides an update on the MBTA's plans to replace the current 1940s trolleys on the Mattapan Line with more recent Green Line trolleys: It could take a decade to get everything ready and would involve the elimination of the current loop track at Ashmont.

Transit Police report that when a Route 28 driver stopped to pick up three teens outside the BPL branch on Blue Hill Avenue around 1 a.m. on Monday, they whipped out pellet guns and began shooting the driver.

Despite their close range, the three did not injure the driver, police say, adding they then ran away.
