No, we're not in a bizarro universe, Celtics fans chanting "New York Knicks, New York Knicks" is just the latest in twitter-chant technology brought to you by Bill Simmons. Will it work to shake Lebron and the Cavs tonight?

I like the idea.
Anything to get a buzz going at the Garden for the C's. Crowd was good in Game 4, but sometimes they need a little urging. Simmons is smart to realize that if the crowd and the C's jump on Cleveland early, they might just buckle like they did in Games 2 and 5.
Thing is with the Celtics
Thing is with the Celtics legacy sometimes it is tough to get up for a 1st/2nd round game. Not making excuses though I can understand a Celtics crowd or a Yankees crowd not giving 100% unless it's a championship round game. Though, when it is a championship game there is no need to encourage the crowd, not even a little bit. I went to Game 2 of the '08 Finals and walking into the arena before the game even started keep hear "Let's Go Celtics" chants walking up the stairs. Loudest I had ever heard it and half the crowd wasn't even there yet!
I noticed the crowds seem
I noticed the crowds seem jazzier if the series goes to extra games. My guess is it's easier for Joe Boston to grab scalped tickets, or pick them up at the box office that way.
The gardens always quieter when people are allowed to plan and pay long before a game. You get people spending money on tickets as status symbols. "Hey look at me, I'm at this important event!"
