Brookline Friends of the Library Annual Meeting: Why do we need film critics?

Daniel M. Kimmel is past president of the Boston Society of
Film Critics. His reviews appeared in the Worcester Telegram
and Gazette from 1984?2009. They can now be found at
Northshoremovies.net. He is local correspondent for Variety, the “Movie
Maven” for the Jewish Advocate and teaches film at Suffolk University. . His
book on the history of FOX TV, The Fourth Network (Ivan R. Dee, Publisher),
was released in June 2004 and received the Cable Center Book Award. His history
of DreamWorks, The Dream Team, was published in 2006. His most recent,
I’ll Have What She’s Having: Behind the Scenes of the Great Romantic
Comedies, was released in September 2008. He is currently working on a collection
of his essays on science fiction movies.
There will be a short business meeting at 6:30 PM. Dan will speak at 7:00 PM.
