Coakley: Almost done with probe of City Hall e-mail deletion
By adamg on Tue, 06/08/2010 - 6:58am
The Dorchester Reporter catches up with the attorney general on her probe into the way Menino aide Michael Kineavy deleted zillions of e-mail messages. Doesn't sound like there's much of a there there, but possibly some lessons-learned sort of recommendations for updates to the state public-records law.

City emails aren't public records after all, I guess...
Which seems to be contrary to what Galvin and Coakley were saying before. I don't think Coakley wanted anything to do with this from the very beginning, because Menino's a friend and ally or whatever. I thought she should have at least fined Kineavy and the thing could have been resolved months ago. He's a bright guy- the idea that he didn't know what he was doing and/or didn't know the law just doesn't seem credible. So it seems like kind of a bullshit outcome is pending.
I wonder.....
.....if Flaherty still cares as much?
Has anyone heard if he is planning to make another run? What is he up to? I thought I saw his name attached to a large condo development in Southie?
Michael Kineavy deleted zillions of e-mail messages
but you can read all the emails he didn't delete online on boston.gov. Then he took an unpaid leave during the election cycle which they announced. Did they announce when he returned? Did he return?
same old song..
i heard flaherty had a fundraiser a while back so doesn't seem like he is totally out if he is raising funds.
as for the kineavy thing, i remember reading he went on some hike of everest... returned to work the mayor's campaign, then went back to work like nothing ever happened...
