Mulch identified as cause of five-alarm fire in Beverly on Sunday

i saw this fire firsthand on the way home to gloucester from a bbq in salem. the first responders were just screaming down cabot street as we drove home and we could already see the smoke from there, blocks away. we swung by because it looked too close to a friends' home for comfort, and it was really frightening even from 1A. the whole front was on fire. i couldn't imagine everyone had gotten out in time, it'd gone up so fast - just scary stuff.

i then later realized it was 26 years to the day from the massive Elliott Chambers Fire literally around the corner. it's so sad and devastating that they lost everything, but it could have easily been so much worse.
