Man, that's too bad no one noticed him about to jump. :(

That sucks; I feel sorry for the person and their loved ones.
I recently started commuting to work via the Tobin; I hope I never have to witness something like that.

James had been suffering from depression for several years. We loved him completely, and tried to help him as much as we could. He has left unimaginable pain behind. He was the youngest sibling, and will never be forgotten. Please, if you are suffering from depression, get help. James' pain is over, ours is just beginning.

He did have help but the road to recovery was too long and he was too weak to make the journey so he took the road that would lead him to his father. Psalm 34.18 The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. RIP My Sweet Brother James

If anyone from James' family is reading this, I'm sorry for your loss. Suicide touches more families than you know. It will be difficult for a while, but someday you will remember all the good times you had with him. Hang in there. People, even strangers, care.

The person who ended his life at the Tobin Bridge on the 18th will remain in my memory as one of the most special people I have ever met. I have hundreds of friends and have traveled the world... James was truly,one-in-a-million. He was brilliantly intelligent... able to look at all aspects of a situation in an instant and react accordingly. He could read people's intentions with a clarity and accuracy that was never off target... his radar worked VERY well. I am honored that he entrusted me with intimate anecdotes and stories from his youth. He shared personal heartbreaks with me, although to a stranger, he always appeared completely composed and in-charge. ~ At one time, I would have told you that his confidence in himself was boundless... no task too large, no hurdle too tall. ~ Then, slowly, his felt that his world was falling apart... that he had lost control of his destiny. In actuality, James had unknowlingly handed over control of his life to a parasite... a person who is a professional 'taker'. He trusted and loved this person, but their agenda was one of greed and opportunity. The 'taker' felt that their personal losses justified the destruction of a good and decent person; James. James never saw this attack coming... the parasite had their game plan finely honed... and they were not going to go down without taking James with them. His 'radar' kept trying to alert him, but he couldn't believe that this petrson that he loved was so twisted. ~ I need to stop writing, especially out of respect to James' wonderful family. They need only know that there was not an evil bone in James' body. He was generous to a fault... and that was what ultimately led to his demise. ~ I have always hated bullies and have always cheered for the underdogs and the innocent. The person who did this to James needs to heed my warning: you have assaulted your last victim. This time you went too far. You will pay for your greed and vileness. I am not afraid of you... but you need to fear me. I am a patient person, but if you do not do the right thing now, I will not hesitate to seek you out.
