David Bernstein reports on the battle between Frank Baker and John O'Toole to replace Maureen Feeney:
Defaced campaign offices, character-assassination calls to voters, destroyed lawn signs, intimidation, name-calling - the campaign has seen it all, just in the past couple of weeks.

The mayor needs to go
I know Frank Baker. That he is an honest and decent guy is his biggest fault. On the other hand we know how Tom Menino works today. Tom is king and anyone who disagrees looses their head.
Tom was a great mayor. But over the years he has confused his political longevity with a divine right to rule. Instead of mayor as public servant Tom is now Lord High Mayor of Boston Town.
On the other hand the history of Boston public officialdom is full of grotesque caricatures of public service. The government culture of Boston, including elected and appointed officials, police and fire employees, often seems to operate on the assumption that the city exists to serve them.
Really?
"That he is an honest and decent guy is his biggest fault."
Did his mother write this? I still would like someone to tell me what he has actually done that makes him qualified for the job. He keeps saying he will return phone calls if elected, but never goes into any thing he has done. At some point in time I would like to hear what he has done to better his community.
Amen to that. I don;t know
Amen to that. I don;t know Baker that well, but I know that whoever has got the mayor's support will owe him his job and will then do whatever he's told.. That's a good thing for us how? So Menino can close more community centers and libraries and give jobs to his hand-picked friends and relatives. No thanks. Baker all the way.
People over politics- at the
People over politics- at the end of the day- what truly matters is what these men stand for not who they're standing next to. Well that kinda matters too but you get the point- bottom line without Walsh or Menino- which is able to STAND on their OWN and when the sh%t hits the fan who will be man enough to stand ALONE!!!!! Hmmmm- Baker is an independent voice- he's real and understands the working class, the middle class and everyone else in between- white- yellow, black, brown etc- O'toole doesn't seem to connect with DOT- he's a bit too...
