Backhoe falls off trailer, kills woman on 495.
Wood and debris hit Haverhill man on I-95 South:
Tom O'Brien, of Haverhill, was on his way to work in Wakefield, when a giant piece of wood came crashing through his windshield.

95S just past Rt. 9 was
95S just past Rt. 9 was pretty horrible about an hour ago. Not sure if it was construction, an accident, or just general 95-ness.
Another highway nightmare:
Another highway nightmare: Route 1 in Saugus went pitch black for a solid half hour+ tonight. Roughly 9:30 to 10:15. I didn't see the lights go out, but while sitting outside one of my jobs I saw the lights come back on all at once. It was kinda intense, it was pitch black if it weren't for headlights, and suddenly the whole area is like a Christmas tree. People were then hitting the brakes, must have been surprised by the sudden flood of light. No accidents caused though.
The backhoe coming off the trailer:
It sounds as if this horrible accident and the resulting fatality and injuries could well have been prevented. The driver of the truck didn't have it loaded securely enough, obviously.
