Around 11:40 a.m., Jim Lokay posted a photo of the backed up traffic on the turnpike westbound between Framingham and 495.
Around the same time, Dave reported a major jam on 128 north by Rte. 20 in Waltham caused by a multi-vehicle crash that closed three lanes. Sarah Nelson reported a similar situation involving another multi-car crash on 495 south between exits 26 and 27.

Wood and debris hit Haverhill man on I-95 South:
Tom O'Brien, of Haverhill, was on his way to work in Wakefield, when a giant piece of wood came crashing through his windshield.
WCVB reports Rte. 495 southbound was completely shut down in Bellingham at lunchtime due to a double rollover accident that sent a mother, her two children and a driver to the hospital. Smartraveler reported the accident happened by the Rte. 126 interchange.
Among those stuck in the resulting backup was local blogger C.C. Chapman, who, with nothing else to do, tweeted the action:
First chopper just left. Still one more. 495 south in Franklin area.
