North End Patch reports nobody was injured when manhole covers on Richmond, North and Cross streets began ascending skyward as if moved by an occult hand around 3 p.m.

...here in Southie it sounds like a war zone tonight, with fireworks going off everywhere, and not just a few Roman candles, but massive booms...haven't heard or seen one police cruiser anywhere telling folks enough already..we're going into our third hour of this. I know it's July 4th and all but...anyone else in Southie or other neighborhoods experiencing the same thing?

I was on a late-night bike tour through these areas, last night (Tuesday 7/3), and heard and saw fireworks going off all over the place.

I live in downtown Chelsea, its been awful lately. Fireworks until 2-3am. Of course the cops can't do anything about it... the display are long over before the cops get there.
Good thing that fireworks are illegal here in Mass
