One mystery solved: BFD says JFK Library fire caused by stupid smoker, not terrorist

The Boston Fire Department reports tonight:

On Patriots Day, 6 minutes after the bomb explosion at 2:50pm, we responded for a building fire at the JFK Library in Dorchester. We had a fire at an outside area of the library. Investigators have determined the cause was careless disposal of smoking material.

Now that people aren't allowed to smoke indoors any more, improper disposal of cigarette butts in outdoor locations has become one of the most common causes of fires in Massachusetts. Mulch is especially flammable in dry weather; even the soil in a potted plant can get dried out and lead to a fire. In my neighborhood of West Cambridge, we've had two multi-alarm house fires starting in potted plants!

3 fires at my apartment bldg due to fuck head smokers carelessness - this is even though they had buckets filled with sand to dispose them. another left lit cigarette in the flower bed & lit the mulch on fire. LAZY LAZY and MORE LAZY could have killed people.
And I am a smoker.
