Alleged serial rapist to stay behind bars at least until dangerousness hearing

Alejandro Done of the South End, whom authorities say has been raping women since at least 2006, was ordered held without bail today until a July 27 hearing to determine whether he is too dangerous to release at all until his trials are done, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Done is charged in Cambridge with raping a passenger in the Uber vehicle he drove in December of last year and with raping a woman in Moakley Park in South Boston in 2006. He faces arraignment on Thursday with a sexual assault on the Esplanade in 2007. Authorities have linked him to two other attacks on the Esplanade and one in South Boston, but say they are investigating his connection to other unsolved rape and sexual-assault cases since 2006.

Innocent, etc.

Why wouldn't he be too dangerous to release....

Based on the second paragraph, why is another hearing required to determine whether he's too dangerous to release until his trials are finished? If anything, this guy should be chemically castrated immediately.

If anything, this guy should be chemically castrated immediately.

Because this is the United States.

Because our state still believes in the rule of law.

Because the law requires due process to deprive people of liberty according to our founding documents and original intent.

Because science supporting the effectiveness of "chemical castration" is weak - even it the thought of it makes your feels puff. Rape is about power and control, not sexual urge.

And that's always the case, correct?
