Boston Police seek name for new dog

New dog needs a name

Boston Police have issued a BOLO for a name for the newest member of their K-9 unit - a 9-week old Belgian Shepherd male, who will be taking on "patrol and explosive ordinance detection duties."

According to head BPD K-9 trainer Troy Caisey, names should be strong, commanding and no more than 2 syllables. For example: names like Tuco, Bronson and Solo would be more than suitable. So, if you have a suggestion, send it our way and if we use your name - we’ll send you a BPD patch in return.

I've always wanted a dog named Ruggles.

That is a GREAT name. I just voted for your suggestion via an email to [email protected], giving you and UniversalHub full credit, and urge everyone to do the same.
I hope you win!

Why do I see more ability to run this city honestly in this beautiful animal's gaze than in any photo of Marty Walsh? And the dog looks twice as intelligent.

This post is about as fluff as it gets, and you can't help but smear your ragey political bullshit all over it.

we know who the dog's master is. Can you say that about Marty Walsh?

Sobaka!

Counting isn't your strong suit, is it? Or were you just identifying the object in question?

Sobak?

How about "Pyos"?

"Pyos" means male dog and "sobaka" in some contexts means "bitch".

I just emailed them two ideas:

Lando - because of course that face will grow up to be a suave man-dog. :)

and (the old Punks out there might like this)

Knuckles - after the Killdozer song of the same which has the parenthetical Who Helps People. And I said in my email may this pup not meet the song Knuckles's same end.

Remington or Remy.

I know you are referencing the gun, but "Remy" doesn't exactly have positive connotations when it comes to crime.

I think Bullet.

Sherman Griffiths BPD killed in line of duty 1988, killer was freed on a technicality and some shoddy policework, it shouldn't matter. RIP

Coin Flip (as in federal courts have just stated that drug-sniffing dogs can be worse than a coin flip but if they alert, even if it's at their owner's signal, then it validates the search of your bags)

Sic'em (Heel, Sic'em!...Hey, come back!)

Lebert (maybe the dog will be a better cop than that scumbag in Medford wearing a badge that should have been fired by now)

Boomer. He will be a bomb dog too.

up

I wouldn't want to name a bomb dog Boomer - some bad mojo.

I like Martin or Marty - not the mayor - Martin Richard - but check with the family.

"Boomer" definitely my favorite (so far).
