how sad...
His 7 children, mom, dad, sisters and brother will miss him dearly I'm sure. How sad. God bless them and may his spirit embrace you in these troubled times
We should all be so lucky
Not to be murdered, but to be so very missed when we do go. All sadness for the family.
I've deleted a post here
Spent a good part of the evening thinking about this. The victim was not a public figure and the comment wasn't even about his death, but about how many kids he had, by somebody who's had an account here for maybe 2 days.
It was uncalled for and the sort of obnoxious thing that, yes, reminds me of the stuff formerly posted on the site. And it's not the sort of thing I'm going to let fester here.
Good call.
Good call.
Thank you Adam
Why Universal Hub Is Superior To Other News Sources
Sometimes the person in charge needs to step up and breathe a bit of common decency into the fray. No one ever does that at The Herald or countless other "news outlets". As a result, their "discussion boards" descend to the lowest common denominator of vile, uninformed, and mean spirited comments.
It can't be a fun job to manually filter through all the anonymous postings, which I imagine are continuously flooded with "my sister earns $$$ working at home" spam messages, in addition to blatantly offensive remarks.
Through it all, Adam succeeds in finding the right balance. I'm sorry that he had to waste time dealing with this issue tonight, but I commend him for making the right call. Thanks to Adam; healthy, intelligent discourse flourishes here, among people with a wide variety of opinions.
Universal Hub is truly a treasure!
The Herald uses facebook now....
So they have actually taken a pretty big step.
Except if you disagree
with anything that contradicts their editorial slant, then it's bye-bye.
Even on facebook?

Facebook editing controls
If you switch your site's commenting system over to Facebook, you get controls that let you do stuff such as delete individual comments.
You can actually hide them,
You can actually hide them, so that no one but the poster can see the,. That way they don't THINK you are deleting them.
Thanks!
Totally appropriate to get rid of that hateful post.
Good call.
Good call.
Well done
Asshattery need not be tolerated.
RIP
And may your loved ones and friends know your memory as a blessing.
