Houses adjacent to the Mission Church in Roxbury Crossing.. I'd guess early to mid 1920s. Possibly in the vicinity of St. Alphonsus or Smith Street

I agree that looks 100% like Mission Church, but it looks like we're facing the front-left corner (you can see the center steeple just to the right of the spire), which would have to put the photographer up the hill from church, somewhere around Alleghany. Looks too flat though. Very confusing.

I agree that it looks like the mission church, and I had the same thought as you in terms of the angle. I can't quite place what side of the church this could be from - it looks like the church is off in the distance quite a bit.

In fact, playing around with Google street view - the last address on Turqoise before the current T intersection with Smith is #65. If that was the numbering then, and continued to a lane or alley on the other side of Smith, it could easily be #69.
If not, maybe the "69" means this photo is even more historic than we thought - first photographic evidence of someone putting out a space saver when there wasn't enough snow to justify it!

That looks like the old St Augustine's steeple in the background. Might this be pre slum clearance photo of somewhere on East Ninth Street.

Here is Mission church from the same exact rear angle as the archives photo, but a bit closer.
