At least Easter and Christmas are related so far as the reason for the season goes.

...and already they want us to celebrate his coming back to life? C'mon.
This is the new normal
At this point we should just have one big year round "holiday season" where seasonal items are shoved down our throats on a nonstop basis. We have come to a point sociologically where we have these interminable lead ups to a holiday or event, and then the actual holiday/event itself is nothing but an anticlimax.

Don't worry in January the Back to School Sales start...
After Valentine's Day the 4th

After Easter we'll have Haloween candy stocking the shelves.
