Board approves new apartments on current site of old appliance-repair shop in Brighton

The BRA board yesterday approved a proposed 132-apartment building at 530 Western Ave., the current home of a long unused Dewalt/Black & Decker repair shop.

Good! Good location with
Good! Good location with somewhat frequent bus service to Central, mediocre bus service to Harvard (though transfer to 66 from 70 is easy), river path right nearby (can we please get the developer to pay for ped/bike improvements to get to the path?? looks like that won't happen though...) supermarket and shops pretty quick in either direction. Repairs a major eye sore! Overall good project!
