If you read only one obituary today, make it this one

James Mahlon Tower wasn't just the owner of Hub Video in South Boston:
Jimmy loved Jujyfruits, Chinese food, banana splits, Bugs Bunny, the zipper lane and polo shirts. He was quite fond of people’s ears (especially earlobes).
H/t Eileen Murphy.

I read that one yesterday. I love how he referred to one of his children's towns: something like Whydoyouwanttolivethere...
Great obituary that seemed to reflect the true personality of the deceased. I got a chuckle from it and seemed to me like the kind of person I would've loved to have known.
(are there many of us left that read the daily Irish sports pages?) I suggest reading obits, I find them fascinating.
How good was it?
I when I saw that the daughter lived in Whydoyouwanttolivethere, I started reading the death notice out loud to my wife.
I don't know the guy, but I was happily in tears at the end. What a way to leave a legacy.
Whydoyouliveoutthere
The fact that this particular "town" is in Arkansas, :)
Love the reference
Reminds me of my grandmother. She immediately went straight to the death notices - she said that was the section she was most likely to read about someone she knew.
That was a cool obituary
Nowadays I seem to get all death notifications within 60 seconds of the departure.
I would imagine obituaries are one of the few sources of revenue for news papers these days.
There seems to be a trend
There seems to be a trend in this lively type of obituary lately. I've read about some which are saying things like "in lieu of flowers it was the deceased's wishes that you don't vote for Trump" and the like.
In lieu of flowers.....
This is my favorite part.
Is it banana splits
like the ice cream treat, or Banana Splits like the furries that had their TV show around the same time the Monkees did?
i just licked my boss's face
she didn't like it but I did it for you Jimmy!
That made my day
Thank you for sharing that. I want to hug the person who wrote it. Makes me sorry I never met him.
Beautiful!
