It's not just the MBTA that has trouble with wayward snakes

This is apparently an issue for Philadelphia as well:

Snakes make good pets. It's a shame this one had to go out this way.

Poor thing. Sounds like a pet owner decided this was an easy way to get rid of a thinking, feeling being.

It could be the result of someone who stole the snake from a person or a store and killed it, perhaps unintentionally. Unlike a dog or cat, snakes can be somewhat fragile.

Hopefully there isn't someone in Philadelphia worried about their missing pet snake.

They'll find you coiled near a brake
You'll survive off subway pests
Just stand clear the door!

How am I supposed to enjoy my smelly fast food on the train knowing all of these snakes are on the loose?

Unless your smelly fast food consists of recently killed mice and rats you don't have much to worry about.
