By adamg on Tue, 04/05/2016 - 12:09pm
Transit Police report arresting a man they say exposed himself to two women on a Red Line train as it entered Park Street around 8:45 p.m. on March 27.
Police add:
The offending male exited at Park Street Station and according to a witness may have attempted to "grope" another female as she ascended up the stairs.
Police say officers caught up with Robert McCarty, 40, at Harvard Square station yesterday and arrested him on a charge of open and gross lewdness.
Innocent, etc.

Every time I see those "don't
Every time I see those "don't expose yourself" PSAs on the bus or subway I wonder if they do a damn thing (aside from entertaining those who are as immature as I am).
Is there any evidence that they curb public exposure? One would think someone who is mentally ill enough to follow this would not be warned off by an ad.
I've seen my fair share of
I've seen my fair share of ding dongs on MBTA property and I am certain that additional signage is not the answer. The people who have this mentality are also the ones who smoke on platforms, litter, and wear backpacks in crowded trains - self centered degenerate psychopaths.
Wow
Can you tell us where you got your advanced degree in abnormal psychology?
Train etiquette violations
I got mine at the University of Back Bay. My thesis was "Idiots who wear backpacks that extend a foot outward"
They don't do damn thing. The
They don't do damn thing. The people who expose themselves in public get off on seeing other people's reactions and it's really hard to police that.
Look on the bright side
At least they're not broadcasting "Don't expose yourself" messages over the PA system in the stations or on the trains.
"Keep your d*** in your pants
"Keep your d*** in your pants and your Charlie Card in your hands"
Best slogan ever! 'Beats see
Best slogan ever! 'Beats see something, say something' by a mile
Maybe that would embarrass people who do expose themselves,
if they did broadcast it over the PA system in the stations, at least.
Truthfully, however, the people who do expose themselves have the mentalities of infants and/or small children, and they can be dangerous, sometimes.
True?
Is that true, or are you just disparaging them? (I am genuinely curious about this.)
Are you talking to me? Just curious.
It's not a matter of disparaging these guys. Those guys who do expose themselves to other people in public do have the mentality of babies or small children, and, yes they can be dangerous. There's no telling what else a guy like that might do, in addition to exposing himself.
Once, as a pre-teen, while walking down to the other end of our street that my siblings and I grew up on (my brother hadn't come into the world yet.), a guy drove by me in a jeep, stopped several hundred yards away, got out of his car, and began exposing himself. It was rather obvious, even though it was that far away. It was in broad daylight, also.
Not quite the right analogy
Babies and children run around naked and smear their crap around because it is fun and they don't know any better, not because they get a sexual thrill from it.
Exhibitionists are typically (but not always) harmless, but they are mature adults with compulsive sexual behavior issues: https://www.psychologytoday.com/conditions/exhibitionism
Maybe the guy who stopped and exposed himself on the road
was an exhibitionist, and wasn't so harmless. An adult who purposely goes around exposing himself doesn't seem so harmless to me.
Non violent
Didn't grab you. Didn't force himself on you.
How, exactly, were you harmed (beyond being a bit unnerved)?
Jeezus, please don't give
Jeezus, please don't give them any more ideas for pointless, irritating announcements!

Privatization of public transportation has arrived.
