The Boston Women's March for America is organizing a march in Boston on Jan. 21 "in solidarity with communities most affected by the hate, intolerance and acts of violence being perpetrated throughout the nation - among many are communities of women, immigrants, people of color, people who identify as LGBTQIA and people with disabilities."

Maybe they could drive around
Maybe they could drive around Wellesley campus waving Hillary flags.
Oh wait.
Please stop.
Watching you try to be witty and draw parallels to another story is very uncomfortable.
You're not funny.
LBGTQIA?
What does the IA stand for?
IA
Intersex and Allies
Enough Already With The Alphabet Soup
I am a gay man myself, but the problem with "LGBTQ" and all it's auxiliary letters is that is is just too damn hard to say. It doesn't roll off the tongue. During the election, any time that Donald Trump OR Hillary Clinton OR Bernie Sanders found it necessary to say it they stumbled over it. Every. Single. Time. Likewise newscasters stumble over it. Everybody does. Constantly. I can't be the only one who has noticed. Not to mention the ambiguity of the "Q" which some people swear stands for "questioning" and some people swear stands for "queer". It won't be long until it becomes "LGBTQQ". Not to mention the semantics of what exactly the difference between "gay/lesbian" and "queer" actually is. Not to mention whether every group covered in this amalgamation should in fact be lumped together in the first place.
Then don't use it
Then don't use it if you don't want to. That's your prerogative. Use it or don't, and let others make the same choice.
I thought
It stood for quartet

Meanwhile, gentlemen ...
... this was an article about protests planned to happen the day after our first official "Pussy-grabber in Chief" takes his throne and validates that it's fine to treat women like tchotchke and exclude 50% of the human race when appointing your cabinet, that appointing supreme court justices who will acquiesce to pressure to curtail a woman's right to chose is the first order of business, that misogyny is at the heart of our culture, and war is here to stay. But snippy comments are all ya got? Some of us are actually concerned about our voice in this society, the most vulnerable among us, rape culture, and our children's future. But you keep parsing your annoyance about that pesky alphabet. Maybe you should march in the street about it.
