Chris Dagdigian spotted the smashed window this morning at the new Tony's meat market on Washington Street in Roslindale. Tondy and Deb DeBenedictis report that sometime overnight, somebody apparently fired BBs at three windows.

That's a damn shame. We were just welcoming them to the neighborhood about a month back! I think the place used to have metal shutters before they renovated it. Hopefully they won't have to go back to that... There's many people really glad to have you here, don't let this get you down.
Just before the parade, too.

Just before the parade, too. Well, great opportunity to drum up community support...

The renovation to the new spot included cameras and a modern alarm system. They had a false alarm a few weeks back and the police and owners showed up pretty much instantly.
For me the interesting thing was that no access was gained. Someone tried pretty hard and really failed (unless this was just vandalism ..) -- for a huge glass storefront they must be using some really strong tempered glass. Good Stuff.

They said it was likely a BB gun projectile that did the damage.
More likely a pellet air gun

Anyways, I'd use the grates when the shop is closed.
But why though?

None of the Birch St. stores have grates. Pet Cabaret doesn't have grates.
How about we don't accept that it's ok to smash windows and shoot for that?
too soon

Cities are trying to get rid of them because they are unwelcoming and scream HIGH CRIME when most of what they protect is windows.
In other words, they might be grandfathered for older stores, but disallowed for newer ones.

Roslindale has its moments with area a-holes and the only way to not tolerate such behavior is to rat the bastards out... Someone must have seen something...
