The YouTube description doesn't identify the soundtrack, but Shazam says this version of "Let it Be" is sung by Carol Woods and Timothy Mitchum.

Why is the smooth transition of power considered "times of trouble?" The American people have spoken and President-elect Trump won in a landslide. It must be tough in sanctuary cities like Somerville but they'll get through it, even if they lose federal funding. God Bless America!

He didn't even win a plurality of the popular vote. If you want "landslide", you have to go back to 1972 (Nixon) or 1964 (LBJ).

Losing by a million votes is what the kids are calling a landslide these days?

You must have gone to one of those republican state schools

It's easy to lose by a million votes when middle class families whose vote can go either way can barely afford to have one kid, whereas those who always check the D box have ten on everyone else's dime.

Where are those folks who always check the D box have 10 kids on everyone else's dime? I would love to see proof of that statement. Whatever the proof it would make for one hell of a laugh.

1. Why IS the GOP so obsessed with preventing women from controlling their fertility, then?

2. The later stronger marriages and fewer children per couple in Blue states

3. Harlan County, KY

Millions more said NOT TRUMP than said TRUMP.

I'd hate to see your evidence room logs, dude. Pure Dookhan.

Trump 306
Clinton 232

Landslide. No state schools, I'm one of the "uneducated" white male voters with the Master's Degree from a Catholic School. Any hotel recommendations for DC? Its been a while.

Is special.

When land area and not people elect presidents, people get rather pissed off.

Just look at what your dumpstermates had to say when Obama won even with the popular vote!

I had high hopes for Obama. I'm sorry that it turned disastrous.

Time Magazine mocking Trump for questioning Obama's place of birth while failing to mention that for years, Obama's own promoters boasted that he was born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia. Even his Godmother during his recent trip "home" told the foreign media that Barack was born "right there" pointing to a patch of grass.

I get calls everyday from officers in your situation telling me how lucky I am to have retired just before Obama and the divisiveness that has so soured our country and our profession.

Not the words of someone with high hopes.

Perhaps there were no courses offered in how the U.S. government is constituted. The President is elected by the Electoral College (which are the numbers you are quoting). The Electoral College vote is based upon the majorities of each state and commonwealths instead of being based on the total number of votes. In other words the Electoral College represents each state's citizenry and not the national citizenry.

The Constitution was originally written to provide some direct representation of voters SOLELY in the form of the House of Representatives. The Senate was to directly represent the interests of states and commonwealths and only indirectly represent the interests of the citizenry. A similar philosophy stands behind the Electoral College.

Just as the nation realized that the Senate should also represent the citizens of each state instead of being elected by the state legislature, by passing the 17th Amendment, it is becoming clear that the health of the nation is now undermined by preventing the President from elected by a majority of citizens.
