Robert O'Connor snapped the Fore River Bridge this morning.
looking at the two bridges together, it's a mix of terror and comedy thinking that the flimsy looking bridge in the foreground (that was supposed to be "temporary") has carried traffic since the 90s.
It's why I'm not shocked when a bridge randomly collapses. I am actually shocked more don't.
We don't spend nearly enough money in this country on basic upkeep and replacement of critical infrastructure. Even less on expansion.
How can you conclude that we underspend on infrastructure, just because a temporary bridge looks flimsy?
Literally looks like an Erector set.
Nice look at the 2 bridges and the USS Salem. Must be from on top of the power plant.
Yep, that's where he took the shot from.
I get to ride over this every morning on the bus! This temporary bridge has been up since the early 2000's. Long enough. The new bridge looks amazing
