The commuter-line train from hell: When will it arrive, who can tell?
By adamg on Thu, 02/02/2017 - 7:31pm
At 7:05 p.m., the T reported that Train 119 on the Rockport line was 55 to 65 minutes late.
At 7:13 p.m. the T updated that Train 119 was sitting just past Beverly station.
At 7:21 p.m., the T reported:
Train 119 is stopped near Montserrat Station and will be assisted by Train 121 en route to Rockport Station.
UPDATE: At 7:31 p.m., Ra, a passenger on the train, replied:
You guys owe every passenger dinner. We've literally could've ordered food and had it delivered to us with how long we've been stck

Schrodinger's Train?
Schrodinger's Train?
What's the biggest issue Charlie is banging on?
Legislative pay raises. I'm not saying the legislature was right to do what they did, but let's get some perspective. There are issues that matter. The pay raise issue will be used by Charlie to deflect from these issues.
If an issue neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg that's as good as it gets. The pay raises only pick my pocket. The daily fails of the public transportation system break my leg and pick my pocket. It is the greater issue.
And again in the morning
As far as I can tell, the T eventually limped that train out to Rockport and then just left it there overnight hoping that magic fairies would descend and presto bammo the train would be back to normal in the morning. Spoiler alert: the train is still broken. The 7:10 AM from Rockport was dead in the station this morning, much to the T's surprise.
Useless
Before I moved south I would take the train out of Rockport every morning. Ghost town no employees of MBCR around. Go to shed to inquire if train was leaving on time. 3 guys sleeping in there . Thank god i moved southof the city .
How can it be that not one,
How can it be that not one, not two, but 3 different notification apps had 3 completely different times posted this morning, and all of THOSE were contradicted by the electronic signboard at Salem Station? The only reason I knew there was a problem on the Rockport branch was because I heard it on TV before I left the house. Given the temps, it would have been nice to at least sit in my warm car in the garage to wait, but there is no way to tell when the damn train, any damn train, was going to show up!
