Pedestrian seriously injured in Hyde Park crash

A woman hit by a vehicle around 3:40 p.m. on Friday outside the Boston Renaissance Charter Public School on Hyde Park Avenue is expected to survive, Boston Police report this morning.

The woman's injuries were so serious that the BPD homicide unit and fatal-accident reconstruction team were initially called in.

No charges have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation, police say. The driver remained on scene.
