Boston gets new licensing head

Mayor Walsh today appointed Kathleen Joyce as chairwoman of the Boston Licensing Board.
Joyce, a Dorchester resident, replaces Christine Pulgini of Hyde Park, who did not seek reappointment to another six-year term overseeing food and liquor license holders in the city. She and the other two board members vote on requests for food-serving and liquor licenses and determine penalties for violations of city food and liquor regulations.
Joyce was previously senior counsel at the BPDA, before which she worked as director of government relations and public affairs at the Boston Bar Association.
