Deer hit by car on Washington Street in West Roxbury

Kim Kendricken reports that around 8 p.m., she drove past an unusual scene on Washington Street inbound, just before West Roxbury Parkway: A deer lying on the ground, with two cars pulled over and some glass in the road. She said the deer did not appear mortally wounded:

It looked stunned because it wasn’t laying flat and all four legs were sticking straight out not touching the ground.

Despite the glass, neither car appeared to have suffered major damage, she adds.

That part of Washington Street runs along the border of Stony Brook Reservation, where deer, if not antelope, play. A deer-crossing sign greets drivers entering the reservation from Washington Street.
