Apartment in Harvard building in Allston catches fire

A fire that broke out in a second-floor apartment at 1 Western Ave. shortly after 7:30 p.m. went to three alarms before it was knocked down by Boston firefighters.

The Boston Fire Department reports the fire displaced two residents and caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

The department reports no injuries and that the cause is under investigation.

Western Avenue was shut to traffic.
