Police: Dorchester man tried to murder somebody in Cambridge but failed; now he's under arrest
Cambridge Police report arresting Jean Griffin, 41, of Fields Corner, on a variety of charges - including armed assault to murder - for an incident Saturday in which several rounds were fired into a second-story residence at Elm and Cambridge streets.
The May 20th shooting was not believed to be random and the subsequent investigation led to the issuance of a warrant for the defendant's arrest.
Cambridge Police report US marshals and Boston Police assisted them in locating and arresting Griffin in Dorchester yesterday on charges that also include possession of a large-capacity firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and malicious destruction of property. He is scheduled for arraignment in Cambridge District Court today, police say.
Cambridge Police Commissioner Branville Bard, Jr. credited tips from residents for helping lead them to Griffin.
Innocent, etc.

If whomever was shooting there is convicted, I'd like that irresponsibility to be an additional factor in sentencing. On top of the whole attempted murder thing.

CPD believes that the perpetrator shot the house up with an AK-47. 7.62X39 casings were found at the scene. Apparently the gun jammed, which may have prevented him from firing more shots than he did. Didn't see this is mentioned anywhere on this site, but that explains the serious police response to this.
